چکیده

Cyanobacteria blooms occur frequently in freshwaters around the world. Some can produce and release toxic compounds called cyanotoxins, which represent a danger to both environment human health. Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is most variant reported all over Conventional water treatment methods are expensive require specialized personnel equipment. Recently, multi-soil-layering (MSL) system, natural low-cost technology, has been introduced as an attractive cost-effective, environmentally friendly technology that likely be alternative conventional wastewater methods. This study aims evaluate, for first time, efficiency of MSL eco-technology remove MC-LR on laboratory scale using local materials. To this end, pilot plant was designed treat distilled contaminated with MC-LR. The composed alternation permeable layers (pozzolan) soil mixture (local sandy soil, sawdust, charcoal, metallic iron dry weight ratio 70, 10, 10%, respectively) arranged brick-layer-like pattern. continuously fed synthetic containing increasing concentrations (0.18–10 µg/L) at hydraulic loading rate (HLR) 200 L m?2 day?1. early results showed removal above 99%. Based these preliminary results, could considered promising solution by order quality irrigation or recreational activities.

A preliminary report on generalized LR parsing for Boolean grammars

The generalized LR parsing algorithm for context-free grammars, invented by Tomita in 1986, is extended for the case of Boolean grammars – a recently introduced generalization of context-free grammars with logical connectives added to the formalism of rules. A high-level description of the algorithm, an elaborate example of its operation and a suggested implementation are provided. The algorith...

Optimization and Modeling of Microcystin-LR Degradation by TiO2 Photocatalyst Using Response Surface Methodology

Introduction: Microcystin-leucine arginine (MC-LR) is a toxin with harmful effects on the liver, kidney, heart, and gastrointestinal tract. So, effective removal of MC-LR from water resources is of great importance. The aim of this study was to remove microcystin-LR (MC-LR) from aqueous solution by Titanium Dioxide (TiO2). Materials and Methods: In the present study, TiO2, as a semiconductor, ...

Preliminary interpretation of the REMS pressure data from the first 100 sols of the MSL mission

We provide a preliminary interpretation of the Rover Environmental Monitoring Station (REMS) pressure data from the first 100 Martian solar days (sols) of the Mars Science Laboratory mission. The pressure sensor is performing well and has revealed the existence of phenomena undetected by previous missions that include possible gravity waves excited by evening downslope flows, relatively dust-fr...

Removal of arsenic from drinking water and soil bioremediation

Various countries in America have reported the existence of people suffering chronic exposure to levels of arsenic in drinking water that are higher than those envisaged in international standards. This is the case in Canada, the United States, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Some of these countries have solved, either fully or in part, the problem of technology availab...
